Last Tuesday, the AVIATION division of FERCHAU Engineering GmbH, specializing in aerospace engineering, presented the Young Scientist Award of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DGLR). The German market leader in engineering services presented the Hamburg student Lennart Bendix Mou with 1,500 euros for his outstanding Master thesis entitled "Development of an integrated solution for the thermodynamic assessment of planned maintenenance requirements for aircraft engines". At the opening ceremony of the German Aerospace Congress in Rostock, Harald Felten, CEO FERCHAU AVIATION, and Martin Sauerschnig, Head of Operations RST, handed the award for young scientists over to the 27-year-old student.
With his thesis, Lennart Bendix Mou earned the outstanding grade 1.0 from Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. For it, the student of Aircraft Construction developed a fully operational software tool for the optimisation of aircraft engine maintenance planning. The 27-year-old graduate also enjoyed the opportunity to share ideas with experts at the German Aerospace Congress.
Promoting the advancement of young scientists in the field of aerospace engineering is a major objective of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Luft- und Raumfahrt - Lilienthal-Oberth e.V., which is why it awards prizes each year for particularly excellent graduation theses and doctoral dissertations in the field of aerospace. The prize money is donated by renowned enterprises and personalities from the aerospace sector.
Under the motto "Luft- und Raumfahrt - Nachhaltig durch Luft und Raum" (Aerospace – Sustainability in Aviation and Space Travel), the German Aerospace Congress is bringing together in Rostock experts from various segments of the aerospace industry up to 24 September. This year for the first time after its takeover by FERCHAU AVIATION, Rostock System-Technik GmbH (RST) is represented at the Congress with a stand of its own. Specialists and HR staff are available for technical and project-related talks as well as personal career counselling. Rostock System-Technik GmbH has 150 employees and is among the biggest aerospace companies in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. For many years now, it has been supporting numerous renowned customers from the aerospace industry as a strategic development partner, such as the Aerospace Group in product and process engineering for all civil Airbus programs, in the A400M program and in a large number of aerospace programs.
