Together with Madrid, Seville and Bilbao, Barcelona is a key FERCHAU Spain site. We operate in three key industries from our branch in Catalonia: automotive, energy and rail vehicles. Comprehensive expertise in information and communication technology represents a further component of our portfolio – both for the IT industry as well as for all other sectors.
The key work that we perform from Barcelona includes development and design, as well as simulation, testing and validation. A further focus of our team’s work is on production support. This particularly relates to production planning and optimisation, quality assurance, process management, digital manufacturing and ergonomics.
FERCHAU’s Madrid site was opened back in 2012 to develop the Spanish market. The core competencies of our team in the capital city include mechanical engineering (design and calculation), system and unit integration, production engineering, software development and consulting. The site focuses on the aviation, rail, production and energy industries. The portfolio is completed by a wide range of services in information and communication technology.
Apart from the local presence of FERCHAU Spain, the Madrid site is a good example of our international connectivity – in this case with our customer Airbus. We are therefore able to take on complex transnational work packages bringing together a high level of quality and major economic benefits.
The northern Spanish coastal city of Bilbao is the industrial centre of the Basque region. Many well-known manufacturers and suppliers from various industries have located here and the economy is booming. The focus of the FERCHAU site is on Industry 4.0-related process optimisation, as well as mechanical engineering and software development. Digitalisation in particular offers major growth potential, as many companies in the region are currently working to transform their processes. Process analysis, controls development and automation solutions as well as start-up support services are all called for. Development projects in electrics/electronics and smart grids are also undertaken at the site.
Some 90 years ago, the majestic “Graf Zeppelin” rose into the sky over Seville en route to Brazil. Today the Airbus Group carries out the final assembly of state-of-the-art transport aircraft. Since 2013, FERCHAU has had experts working in Seville who specialise in aircraft coordination (MAP). We support our customers with precise problem analysis and efficient solutions, as a link between design offices and production sites. Moreover, the expertise of FERCHAU’s experts spans much of the production value creation chain – from initial conception, development and support, right through to manufacture. The company's entire technical knowledge and expertise can therefore be easily transferred to any other industrial sector and its specific customer requirements.
